I have the privilege of working for a great company Tipping Media, developing out user experience using html, css, javascript and much of what those encompass, while connecting them to a great CMS such as Craft.
Web technologies offer some great flexibility for technology and using those for great purposes is a challenge and a blessing. There is always more to learn!
